Local Group Policy Editor is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap in that you can use to edit local Group Policy objects (GPOs). Local Group Policy Editor and the Resultant Set of Policy snap in are available in Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 10 Professional, Windows 10 Ultimate. OK you have many ways to dsiable any programs/ software, in your computer. But now I want to show you how to enable or edit a program whit the help of <Local group Policy Editor>. For example many of the time you don’t want to open your programs any other peoples you mast to lock your programs. Ok let’s go to start.

How to Dsiable a Program using Group Policy

  1. First of all open click on start menu then type <gpe> and then press enter button. Or the easyst way open RUN window (Windows + R) then type <msc> and then, click ok it will be opened.

Ok when you open local computer policy, fist click on Windows Settings, then come down and click on Security Settings, and then, you must to right click on Software Restriction Policies, and select the first one (New Software Restriction Polices) when you clicked there two drive option will open.

  3. Right click on Additional Rules, the small page will open then click on new (Hash Rule…) waiting for a short time the next page will open.

  4. Now click on <browse> to select the file that you want to hash.
  5. Select any one that you want lock, for example I want to lock <Mspaint>. When you select click on open. You can lock more then one programs.

  6. When you open this page Select to <disallowed>, it means I want to lock the program that I have selected, those how want to open this program they will not open, then click apply and then ok.

  7. You have done lock your software or program, again open RUN window and the type ( gpupdate /force) and then press enter it will show you in <CMD>.

  8. See successfully you have done to lock software or program.

  9. Now open the software that you have been locked if you can’t you must to restart your computer and then try again.
